How about a novel of the romance of young law students which follows their careers as attorneys and judges or about the separate lives of first cousins which sets forth the romance that they encounter during their lives and the conflict that occur when two or more are head over heels for the same man.

Eileen Goudge is one of my favorite authors. Her books are about relationships: family and friends and love. The characters are realistic and intertwined, the stories envolved. We get our money's worth when we read her work.
