Ellen Emerson White Message Board

Julie posts on 2/14/2007 7:42:41 PM I'm so glad to see the confirmation of the new President's Daughter book this fall. Now that it has been confirmed, what I'm hoping for even more is the sequel to All Emergencies, Ring Super. Just recently I was a juror in a criminal case and the state's prosecuting attorney reminded me so much of Kevin Gallagher from the book, that after the trial was over I had to dig up my copy and reread it for the twentieth time or so....One thing that EEW is great at is creating really endearing, crushworthy characters. Which might make me sound like a teenager, but there are few authors out there who can do that, so that's something I really like about her books.
Meredith posts on 1/14/2007 2:28:19 PM I love your books Ellen but I can honestly say that I still love your Santa Paws books. I am a kid at heart and I hope that youre still planning on coming out with more books in the series. I cant wait to read the one that you have come out next.
Amy posts on 1/4/2007 12:06:07 PM Ms. White, if you read this, You're one of my favorite authors and I'm delighted that you will have a new book out this year. I started reading your works many years ago and I re-read them often. It took me forever to get the whole Echo series but I finally managed to do so and it was worth it because, like your other works, it was fantastic. I don't know how you make your characters so real, but it's like they jump up from the page and start walking around. I was hoping perhaps you would continue the "All Emergencies, Ring Super" series and include some of your characters from your earlier work. I'd love to see Snoopy, Sg. Hanson, Rebecca, Michael, Derek, etc again. Even if you just made them minor characters who interacted with Dana, it would be so cool to know more about them and how their lives are going. I empathize with the other poster who has a crush on Derek from Life Without Friends--I do too!! But basically, you could write anything and I would buy it and read it. I've been wanting to post on this site a long time. The message about the new book prompted me to finally post. I'm so excited. It reminds me of when I was younger and found out Bruce Springsteen was releasing a new album. (That's meant to be high praise, but it probably sounds weird and now I feel really old...) BTW, How dare someone plagurize your work!I'm sending the publisher an ugly letter right now.

EEW posts on 12/7/2006 3:15:39 AM The publication date is October 2007. The best way to alert people about the William Bernhardt plagiarism is to email his publisher, Random House, or write a direct letter to them, specifically: Ms. Laura Goldin Vice President & Associate General Counsel Random House, Inc. 1745 Broadway NY, NY 10019
Dionne posts on 11/1/2006 10:47:28 PM November 1, 2006 Hi all, I love all of the books written by Ms.Emerson White but I especially connected to The President's Daughter series and for years have wished a sequel had been made to Long Live The Queen. I am thrilled to find out that in February 2006 the story was sold. However, when will the book be released? If anyone knows I'd appreciate it. I want to thank you, Ms. Emerson White, for writing such wonderful books. You are a superb author.
posts on 7/18/2006 12:42:51 PM Just read the William Bernhardt, Death Row entry on his site. Wow, deja vu...read just like Ellen Emerson White's Long Live the Queen which was published much, much earlier...another unorginal write what is the publishing world going to do about writers like Mr. Bernhardt??? He should have to compensate E.E. White and publically apologize.
posts on 6/18/2006 2:09:52 AM Jessica is completely right. If you find William Bernhardt's website and read the excerpt from Death Row, it is clearly a much more poorly-written version of some of the events from Long Live the Queen. Does anyone have any suggestions for what can be done about this?
posts on 4/30/2006 7:44:43 PM Ok. I've never posted here (as evidenced by my apparent lack of success thus far). I am going to try this without tags. And sorry if all of a sudden like 3 posts from me appear. I had written a blog entry about how excited I was to hear news of Long May She Reign. Someone left a comment directing me to another author's site with an excerpt. The author is William Bernhardt and the book is Death Row. Is it just me or is the excerpt on the author's site very, very similar to parts of Long Live the Queen? Do all you all agree? I realize I know the book almost by heart and maybe that is why the whole thing seems so familiar. "Similar" might be a generous term, I think.
posts on 4/20/2006 7:13:26 PM I just reread the entire Echo Company series and The Road Home, and I have to say, I would love another book. But not one about Rebecca and Mike (I like how it is open ended about them), but one about Sgt. Hanson. Maybe one that runs through all the stuff that Mike saw from Hanson's perspective. Maybe a story about how he returns to the World with his injuries. Practically anything, I'd read it. And probably buy about five copies so I can always be assured to have one nearby.
Anna posts on 3/12/2006 9:36:36 PM Has anyone read it? I've read it about 8 times, I absolutely love it!!
