Ellen Hopkins Message Board

Elizabeth posts on 2/9/2009 9:54:13 AM I was wondering if anyone knew of another author that wrote in verse form. I adore all of Ellen Hopkins books, but I want to see how other authors write using this form. Thanks in advance!
brittany posts on 2/6/2009 7:08:54 PM i just finished identical today and i loved itt! i just kinda felt like i had read it before because it reminded me alot of crank and kristina's split personality bree
Ariana posts on 2/5/2009 11:25:11 PM Ellen I love your books. You are an amazing writer. I have not read Identical yet but I plan on it. There was a poster in my theater for some movie called crank. I hope it's based off your book because your books were just amazing. :)

christina posts on 2/5/2009 10:37:31 AM i've read every single book crank glass, burned, impulse, and identical i loved all of them and i would love to read any more books
Alexandria posts on 2/3/2009 5:30:52 PM Will any of your books be made into movies ellen
Ellen posts on 1/30/2009 2:23:34 PM Lisa.... I'm sorry, but I think you're completely out of touch with teens, at least most of the ones other than your own (who obviously had an interest in reading about teens in trouble). Kristina wasn't dysfunctional. The drug made her that way. This is a cautionary tale, and soooooooooooooooo many 14, 15 and 16 year olds (and even younger, unfortunately) are touched by addiction, either thru personal use of because of a friend or family member. Pretending this stuff isn't out there won't make it go away.
Gina posts on 1/30/2009 2:34:31 AM Well, I'm not even sure if you still read this or not. But I wanted to say that I absolutely love your books. I can somehow find a way to relate to a character in all of them. And you don't know how excited I am about Tricks, Fallout, and Perfect! Especially Perfect as I've been hoping you would write a book based on that subject soon. Thank you for sharing your amazing gift with all of us<3
taylor posts on 1/29/2009 9:02:33 PM umm well i've read CRANK and i am an eighth grader.i thought it was an amazing book!and i really dont think your one to judge how old you have to be to understand what that girl went through.ellen hopkins are one of my favorite authors and i am a HUGE fan of tragedies!and most of the people she rights about are young teens that are going through these things.and i highly doubt you know what your students home life is like.
lisa posts on 1/29/2009 7:38:47 PM Ellen: I was very sad when I seen my eighth grader reading CRANK. The back of the book has 14 and up but this book is adult based content that is for older teens. I am not saying that it is or it is not agood book but it is extremely dysfunctional and I am not sure if any 14, 15 or 16 could even understand what that girl was going through. I really wish books were rated. I wish she did not read that book.
kate posts on 1/28/2009 8:22:22 PM ahhh... these books are soo addicting. the storylines are so engrossing and exciting and keep me turning page after page. i just finished Identical. it was amazing!! the twist at the end took me by complete surprise. i actually had to read that page like 3 times!! i cant wait to read your new books ellen!!
