Holly Black Message Board

posts on 8/29/2006 5:43:28 PM I've read "Tithe" and I loved it. I can't find "Valiant" anywhere though! (Sad face, almost to the point of sobbing)My town is really small (no bookstores!) and our library isn't well stocked. Have you read "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer? The main character goes to live in a town called Forks. It's pretty small. Yeah, my town is even smaller than that.
posts on 8/29/2006 3:40:43 PM I think Tom Felton would be good for the role of Roiben. I saw a picture of Kaye and Roiben on livejournal. He looks SO much like Draco!!
posts on 8/27/2006 4:39:14 PM If you're looking 4 more information, simply go to her official website! And I've got one question: Who do you think would be a proper cast for any of tithe's or valiant's characters? I can't think of one...well, maybe it's because my expectations are so high! I know for certain I'll never be satisfied with whoever is going to play roiben, so... Who do you think would fit best???

posts on 8/22/2006 12:07:13 PM Yeah, she is actually almost done! Awesome, huh? It's called ironside and will be a direct sequal to tithe, meaning we'll all hear from Roiben & Kaye again! But she already said, that this will be the last book like this! And I read somewhere, I guess it was amazon, that the release date will be sometime in May!
posts on 8/21/2006 3:57:16 PM does anyone have a spoiler or at least a HINT from Holly Black if she's gonna or not make a third book? I mean, it was kind of a series starter, wasn't it? Tithe and Valiant ARE pretty connected!
posts on 8/8/2006 6:30:10 PM kaye was a fairie(pixie)not a teen and thats why she didn't act like normal teens if she didn't act diffrent then it would not have been that personal to the readers.
posts on 7/25/2006 9:22:48 PM I thought Valiant was better, I guess I just liked the characters more.
posts on 7/22/2006 1:46:38 AM I agree Ravus didn't sound soo bad. Sure he's a troll but at least he's not short! If I remember correctly it said he was very tall! And he was sweet! But Roiben will always be number one. (for me anyway)... I still like Tithe better though. And I didn't really like Corny he was alright but not my favorite. And give the Kelpie a break it had to eat!
posts on 7/7/2006 6:29:59 PM Okay, we all know that Roiben is hot, irresistable and alluring, especially if you imagine him sitting on your couch, his hair a shiny mess and stuff, his scarred chest rubbed with oil... ;) But what about Ravus? Can you really tell me he wasn't all knightly and completely hot as well? And the 2km long teeth...ain't they sumthin? No, I'm serious, he was pretty cool and definitely worthy of being Roiben's follower!
posts on 6/27/2006 11:28:13 PM Look, i don't know what you all are used to, but personally, I have read Tithe and I don't think I have ever read a book this good. It focuses on things we have to deal with everyday, with an awesome fantasy world twisted in with it. And as for it being coarse and ugly, I thought it was written absolutely beautifully. It was haunting, atmospheric, and moving. And come on, Corny made me laugh like crazy. He was a messed up, gay, geek, and he was great. Give him a break.
