The book is not listed in any stores yet. Where did your friend buy it. I know it is out in Canada, but not US as far as I know.
Can someone please clearify?

Some of the books in this series have different titles imposed by the publishers in the US. Clothar=Canadian, Lance Thrower=US.
The Eagle/the Golden Eagle, same thing.
Julie - This is a nine book series, see the order posted by Renedy and should be read in order to gain full pleasure from the read.
I totally love these books and am reading them through for the second time.
BTW - The Eagle is out in the US already, a friend is reading it as we speak.

I have been a fan of Jack Whyte from the moment I received a pr-release copy of the Skystone. The work was brilliant. I was so enthralled I caught a flight to England and hiked Hadrian's Wall.
As it continued the series seem to take on a Stephen R. Donaldson anti hero taint. But it was a full bodied ride. Whyte became THE focus of my proud transference from fantasy to historical fiction. Then came the book Clothar the Frank. Whyte is clearly not in it for the cash as he could have attracted legion of Lancelot fanatics with a less cryptic title and cover. Relying on word of mouth and the tight fantasy/historical fiction crowd to get the word out. Well his call. I personally found the work flat. The entire piece seemed like plot development filler and I kept waiting for something to happen. How does an author go from sexy to… well impotent?
I will continue to read the books but it no longer inspires globetrotting or even lining up for the first hard copy I can grab.

The book you are readin right now is gonna end with Clothar meeting Arthur. The final book called The Eagle is already out in Canada from what I hear, but not yet in US. In this final chapter we will see through Clothar's eyes how Arthur and his knights shaped history. I don't know the details yet of how it will begin or end, but I can tell you that from the sneak peak of the first chapter that it is simply amazing. In fact I have recommended the series to all my friends and everytime I mention the book, I have goosebumps. I can't find words to describe how magnificent this work trully is.

I am presently reading Clothar the Frank - almost finished - he is about to embark on his trip to Britain and meet Arthur. What I would like to know is the last book, Eagle or Golden Eagle, the continuing saga of Clothar or is there a another book about Clothar coming out?? As this book is told from Clothar's point of view and the story is not over, I just wonder whether the next book continues his tale as he tells it or just pics up with him in Britain with Arthur and the story continues from another point of view????

I was wondering about the title of the book that comes after "Clothar The Frank/ The Lance Thrower", and if it is published yet, I understand "Eagle" is the conclusion of the Dream of Eagles series. Is the ''Golden Eagle" miniserie within the Dream series?
