Hi.
I hope that somehow Mr. de Kay sees this.
I am John Downes and was named after Capt/Comm. John Downes who was I am not sure how many
'greats' grandfather to me.
Growing up I was constantly reminded of that.
Chronicles of the Friatye Macedonian 1809-1922 was a fabulous read, now a favorite book of mine.
Favorite part, thats easy, it was whem Perry got the Shogan and his samories loaded and put them on the steam train that went around in circles, I can only guess was happy there no switches and extra track included.
To whomever, its a great read!
