Stephanie Askins posts on 5/29/2009 5:43:08 PM I love the Calder Series, but would like to know what time frame in years they are written. I know there was a mention when Benteen started the cattle drive it was 1850 and the first model T was made in 1908 when he had his heart attack. Just curious. Rereading again for the 3rd. time.
Shirley from Canada posts on 4/17/2009 9:50:34 PM I fell in love with Chase and Maggie in the early 1980's and have read all of the Calder series books many times over. It would break my heart if Chase died - it would be like losing my best friend - I cried my head off when Ty died because I felt like I lost a son & I felt Chase's pain - I too feel like I know all of the Calders personally - I have 2 questions for Janet - what happened to Hattie who Chase fell for in Shifting Calder Winds (I personally didn't like him loving anyone except Maggie but that's life) and what about going back in time before This Calder Range and telling the story about Seth Calder (then you could let Chase live on). Also I've always thought the Calder series should be a TV mini series.
Sandy Musice posts on 2/18/2009 9:41:22 AM I am the Executive Director of the Laclede Literacy Council located at the Lebanon Laclede Library in Lebanon, MO. Each year the Literacy Council has a Celebrity Waiter Dinner at the St. Francis De Sales Family Center in Lebanon, MO. It is a fund raising activity to provide books to scholarship students who want to participate in family basic literacy, jail classes, GED or English as a Second Language. When I was a member of the Laclede Professional Women's organization, Janet came to speak at a tea. I was hoping to get in contact with her to see if she could come to be featured speaker to our celebrity waiter dinner. Sale of her books with and autograph signing could be held before the dinner. Please respond. Sandy Musice, 417-532-6697, 915 S. Jefferson Av., Lebanon, MO. 65536 - or my e-mail address is listed above.
Nikki posts on 1/6/2009 2:09:48 PM Please, Please continue the Calder series. There are so many people from the very first book that you could do a "spin off" story on. I enjoyed them so much, every single one. I was constantly waiting for the next book. I finally started doing a search to find out when the next book would be out when I found this site and there would not be any more. Please reconsider. Nikki
Debbie posts on 12/26/2008 2:45:29 PM I think the Calder series should definitely be made into a movie. It is my all-time favorite series.
