Jean Sasson Message Board

posts on 8/24/2006 11:01:27 PM Wow, Jean Sasson is angry. Kickass!! Well I don't pretend to understand the way the world works, just that I continue to be fascinated by Jean's books, and hope against hope one day that there will be another saga, or Sultana will come out of the closet, so to speak.
posts on 8/24/2006 9:37:06 PM May, you are so entertaining to me, that I might even miss you if you ever find yourself and get a life and do something productive rather than being so obsessed with my rather full and busy life... Truthfully, I don't believe there is a BHS (must mean Baghdad High School! Sounds very American sounding to me. May, I have a sneaking suspicion that in reality you are that seemingly unbalanced Austrian woman. Shame on you for attacking Mayada -- someone who has a purpose in life, and someone who very bravely made it through a horrific situation in prison in Baghdad... By the way, her husband was the one to pick her up from the jailor -- By the way, her children were in a horrible situation without their mother. By the way, Mayada no longer lives in Baghdad. Oh MAY, or whomever you are, Miss Austrian or whatever, you desperately need help and how I wish your children would insist upon it for you -- IF they REALLY love you, they will ensure you get help.... I'll notify Mayada of your post and I'm sure she'll have something to say to you, as well, you pathetic creature.
posts on 8/24/2006 3:33:24 AM To Rana: Why is it so important for you to empohasize the percentages of the religions? I thought you were open minded and didn't care about that as much. To May: I think that you will probably hear from Jean Sassoon soon and have a chance to discuss the details about the prison issue

posts on 8/23/2006 1:25:43 PM Raven, your source of info is very wrong and most probably based upon assumptions from what you have concluded by what you have read , saw or heard and this is by far not realistic. as a lebanese and based on a very confidential and accurate statistic that was done this summer i can sibmit to you these fugures of our population distribution as per religion. christians are 46 percent of maronites, catholics, greek orthodox and protestants , druze are 7 percent and the rest are shiits and sunii moslems.
posts on 8/23/2006 7:54:24 AM Please forward to Mayada Alaskeri.Mayada my name is May.You and I we both attended B.H.S. in Baghdad. My surprised family has send me a book in which you claim that you have been tortured with other woman in a Baghdad prison.Mayada this is not true.Who put you up to say such nonsense.Your own uncle who has been questioned, and everybody who knows you and your children in Baghdad , including the father of your children, know nothing about you having been in a prison. You have not got one single witness of your time in prison.People are not stupied. We have so much evil going on in Iraq.No need to add more lies with the help of an American author of ill repute.May Allah forgive you Mayada. May

posts on 8/17/2006 7:38:07 AM To Rana: I agree with you and think it is better that you aren't occupied by anyone ofcourse. I was just saying that if you had a choice perhaps Israel occupation would be worse that's it. I wasn't implying that it is good if you get occupied by Iran or Syria especially since I know how it feels. I hope you and your family are ok.
posts on 8/15/2006 5:31:28 PM Lebanon has a Muslim dominance of about 55%, but Christians make up a large minority of about 40%. There are many religious groups in Lebanon...(Just got it out of the Internet).
posts on 8/15/2006 10:41:51 AM In regard to the percentage division of moslems and christians living in Lebanon, I believe it is more like 60 moslem and 40% christians...it could even be 70 to 30 in recent years.
posts on 8/15/2006 5:47:59 AM Aida, your info is very wrong , lebanese population is 50%christian and 50 moslems and this is for sure . as i told you before and it seems you did not get my point , there is no better situation for occupation. occupation by anyone is still a forcefull mean to takeover a country. it you go back to history, turks(which is a moslem country) occuppied most arab countris, and their rule over these countries was the most vicious the arabs had encountered. i am sorry to say i still didn't get your logic.. it is as if saying it is better being killed by a knife than being killed by a bullet ... that is very wierd . i don't know about your country, but we refuse to be occupied by any country.i think you really don't know what occupation means.so to make sure you get it, by definition occupation is any foreign country that takes over your country by force in order to dominate your economy, political influence and to change/interfere in it's regmn. we refuse to surrender to that. it is a lebanese rightful choice, this is us. we refuse to change our regmn to a syrian or israeli or iranian one. if this is ok with you it is not with us.it is no others say but our's , no one can give an opinion in our situation but us, just like i cannot give an opinion with regards to your choices. if you chose a situation it doesn't mean we have to be the same. please respect our choices because you have no right to think for us and decide for us. this doesn't go only for you aida, but for everyone. i respect your choices, anna's, ayesha's and everyone's choices with regards to his country. so lets leave it here and let everyone take care about his own state.
