DEAD RISING was originally scheduled to be published in January '02. The World Trade Center (which was down the block from me) was the nexus of the climactic enemy attack. The novel was yanked from the schedule after September 11 '01. When the plans for the new Freedom Tower were announced in January '03, I rewrote and updated the novel. Tragically, a few days after I turned it in, the space shuttle Columbia disintegrated on reentry. DEAD RISING opens with the crash of a space shuttle. The novel was pulled again. I updated it again late last year and it has finally been published. The delay helped put the kibosh on a TV series (Dean Cain was going to star; it was announced in the trades)and I've gone on to another series (L.A.S.E.R.). All of which is an unpardonably long-winded way of saying: I don't know whether the Stealth Warriors will return. But your support is deeply appreciated. Jeff
