I like the scene where Herbert Hume, a dab hand at parading the little courtesies, bows to a charmed Dolores, ceremoniously kisses her hand and with the assurance of one accustomed to the footlights, articulates aloud:
"Had I but known the beauty that awaited here,
My time away would not have been so long;
And all those days and nights of little cheer
Could have been spent with you,my dear, in song."
