There's a lot of stuff Tolkien never really said clearly in the books. Like Tom Bombadil, or Goldberry and people like that. Who and what were they?

I think.... Sauron was a Maia. I'm not sure though. Cos in the Silmarillion, Morgoth turned a lot of the Maiar over to his side, and I think Sauron was one of them.

I remember reading something about Saurons past too, cant remember where though. I thought he was an elf? No, that doesnt fit, I'll see if I can find it anywhere.

Than you should read Silmarlillion they are not peacefull in thouse stories (shudder) by the way I forget dose any book say what race did souron come from?

My favorite characters would have to be either Arwen or Galadriel. I love the elves! They are so elegant and peaceful!

Gandelf is quite cool, I named my tabby cat Gandelf,lol. Well, in the books my favourite character is Legolas, but the films are different.
