Judith Merkle Riley Message Board

Maria posts on 9/4/2005 8:40:34 AM I am another desperate Margaret-reader waiting for the Water Devil. Summer 2006..? Is that a fact? Whos publishing it? Is it possible to find it in some other language more than german? And for the german one, where can I find it? Is there some complete list of books of Ms Merkle Riley? And in which languages (with titel) they are published?
Cate posts on 8/24/2005 2:29:58 AM It is just shameful that almost all of this authors wonderful books are now out of print. I have read them all (except for "The Water Devil," which they didn't have) through my public library and was going to try to purchase them for repeated reading. I am now in the process of tracking them down through used book outlets online, and used book stores in my area. I wonder if there is a forum for expressing to the appropriate publishers that her books are still sought after. Cate
Mona posts on 8/8/2005 12:21:00 AM I just discovered Ms Riley and wow! I am too entertained. Thanks for writitng for us

Karen posts on 7/15/2005 7:31:24 PM For those of you who have been waiting for the English version of The Water Devil, I have it from a very reliable source (the author, herself) that it will be out Summer 2006. In the meantime, we'll just have to keep re-reading the other books on Margaret and Gregory!
Kay posts on 6/17/2005 8:29:15 PM I'm glad I found this site. I wish Ms. Riley would publish a new book soon since I have read all of them at least twice. Margaret is my favorite too! Well, I'll start at the beginning again. All of books are like old friends now. K.
jana_lsb posts on 6/2/2005 11:25:00 PM I have read all of her English books, and own them in Hardback. I would really love to get the next one. She is one of my favorite authors, second only to Diana Gabaldon. It really gets tiresome waiting for either of them to come out with a new book though. My favorite is probably the Margaret series, closely followed by The Serpent Garden.
herta posts on 5/11/2005 10:44:13 AM I don't understand why there has to be a "translation" of Ms. Riley's book, The Water Devil. She is an English speaker and I am reasonably certain the original book was written in English and then translated into German. Why the publisher never published the original English version to round out the "Margaret" stories is beyond me. Although I too read German, I would have preferred to read it in its original English incarnation.
Jayce posts on 5/4/2005 3:52:54 AM Has anyone heard when Ms. Merkle Riley will be publishing a new book? It's been 6 years since her last.
Katherine posts on 5/3/2005 7:09:02 PM According to Judith Merkle Riley herself, an English translation is upcoming (publisher changes, I think). 2006, perhaps?
mei posts on 5/3/2005 7:42:30 AM I've read the Oracle Glass in German and i really love it...But I've just read the first pages in English on the Amazon site and it doesn't have the same beginning at all!!Is this normal??Or didn't they translate it well?
