Laura Moriarty Message Board

joy johnson posts on 6/20/2012 6:05:21 PM Moriarty must be careful of racial stereotyping - Evelyn is telling her mother that her aura is bad and the author in the dialogue expresses black being synonymous with bad as follows: "I've got a bad aura,,Mom"............. "What?"...... "It's black. My vibe, my aura is black." It's time authors are sensitive to language stereotyping and stop it.
