LaVyrle Spencer Message Board

Sherry K posts on 5/29/2013 7:25:23 PM I think I have read every book LaVryl Spencer has written. I have made a list and gone through it numerous times. Hoping to find at least one I have not read.I think all of her books are fabulous. They have made me smile. And they have made me cry. I wish there were more of them. I wish I have missed at least one of her books. But I don't think so. I think I have read 24 books. Does that seem to be all of them? Thank-You

carla rieder posts on 11/18/2012 3:37:13 PM I'm looking for a passage in one of lavyrle spencers book where the character is writing to her child going off to college. It's something like "you will be making new friends and every new person who comes into your life will change you" etc.... Does anyone know what book this is from?

Joy Rich posts on 11/8/2012 6:06:57 PM Small Town Girl is probably my favorite of LaVyrle Spenser's books. I wish she had written a sequel about Faith Oxbury, picking her up at Tess and Kenny's wedding, and letting her find a more fulfilling life.
Fairness Maiden posts on 8/28/2012 5:57:29 AM I just saw 2016 and I pray to my lord in heaven that none of you liberal commies votes for Obama.
Heather posts on 8/27/2012 11:34:12 PM I have read every single one of Spencer's books multiple times. I was first introduced to her books back in 1994 and have been reading them over and over again ever since. The first one I read was Bygones. It is very good; however, I love the historical ones most. Vows is my absolute favorite with The Gamble and Hummingbird a close 2nd and 3rd. November of the Heart ranks right up there as well. And then there is Twice Loved and Forgiven and so on and so on. They are all amazing. My least favorites are The Endearment and Sweet Memories but even those are written far better than any other author I have read. I have been wishing for nearly 15 years that she would come out of retirement. She is the best of all time!
linda posts on 8/7/2012 2:40:48 PM just finished bittersweet.how about a book of short stories using characters from the novels.for exsample, visitors to the inn in bittersweet or a surprise pregnancy in smalltown girl.the daughters in camden summer could be three different stories.anyway morning glory is one of the best books ever written.the elderly lawyer and librarian should get together,it would be great reading.
Donna Dunbar posts on 7/16/2012 7:05:35 PM Spencer is my absolute favorite author, I have written everything she has done, at least everything she has put out there. I think my favorite is the Hummingbird, but I love them all. I wish she would start writing again.
Tasha posts on 6/17/2012 2:14:18 AM Hummingbird is my favorite book of all time! I've read it numerous times and it only gets better. I've read all of the Spencer books, and they are truly the best of the best. I have searched for years for any book that even comes close to Hummingbird, and nothing ever does. I have searched for any author that has Spencer's writing style, and no author ever does. I've visited all of the "If you like Spencer, then you'll like..." sites, and the authors they recommend cannot compare. I've not been satisfied with a single book since reading Spencer's, and that's been years now. So, I desperately hope that Ms. Spencer will one day write again. I would also love to know what author SHE considers most similar to herself. Because I can't find anybody as good! Hummingbird and Morning Glory are the two best books ever written, in my opinion. Thanks for the true happiness that your stories have given me! Please write again!
linda scally posts on 5/11/2012 3:22:21 PM was dissapointed with sweet memories.the whole story could have been written in one chapter.anyway i found out my library has a full shelf of her books.its going to be a great summer.i prefer old books, like to "be there" when i read .she is the only modern writer i enjoy.
