Ruhe posts on 10/20/2006 4:18:15 PM The boat was thrown in the arboretum, but in chapter 14, the Baudelaire's take it out again, and use it to sail away from the island with little Beatrice Baudelaire, who is Kit's daughter. Kit told them to name her baby after one of their parents and since it was a girl, she was named after the Baudelaire mother.
Marie posts on 10/20/2006 2:42:52 AM Yes beatrice was the name of the boat but the boat didn't sink it was thrown in the abertrum and Beatrice dies in a fire because beatrice was the baudilaires mother
Cathy posts on 10/18/2006 7:56:16 PM I was so sad that Kit died. She was my favorite character. =[

Ruhe posts on 10/17/2006 11:29:27 PM I believe the most logical solution to the anagram of the letters in the Beatrice Letters is "Beatrice Sank." That's the boat "Beatrice." I also discovered that baticeer is an anagram of Beatrice. You can also make the word Snicket with the letters, but the rest don't seem to spell anything. I figured some of this out with the help of an anagram generator on a website. I just finished The End, and I found it satisfying. He always promised a sad ending, but it managed to be hopeful too. In the Penultimate Peril, he said we would not find out the secret of the sugar bowl (or at least that is how I understood it).
Revolution posts on 10/14/2006 6:07:35 PM Hello. i've just finished the end and i was wondering if you guys can help me. There are just a few things I don't QUITE understand. So lets start with... EVERYTHING! I don't get it. I just don't. 1) Did they ever actually explain/find the importance of the sugarbowl?? WHY NOT? 2) HOW HOW HOW can he end it like that, without telling us what happens to quigley, isadora and duncan??? what would be good, is if he now wrote their stories. 13 books. Oh, and then, the snicket family history. And also, has anyone, like, popped out the letters in the beatrice letters and anagrammed them or something? what does it say? Start a Revolution...
posts on 10/14/2006 11:57:09 AM I read all of "the end" , and I wish there was more. I can't belive Lemony Snicket is going to stop writing about the baudlaires. I also got the Beatrice letters. I discovered the baudlaires orphans mom name is beatrice. But there are two beatrice baudlaires. The mom and Kit Snicket's kid is named beatrice, but since kit died of the mycellium fungus stuff, the baudlaire orphans raise Beatrice, and apparently changes the last name snicket to baudlaire. ( sorry to those who haven't read it)Also there are 13 chapters, it ends like any other books, then the letter to the editor says to find the end of "the end" look at the end of "the end" then there is a chapter 14. In the book list it says chapter 14 like it is another book, which they call book the last. I didn't expect that.
posts on 10/13/2006 5:31:40 PM Oh I wish I could go, but Im really busy and I dont think any of the bookstores are doing it. Oh wait nvm they are.
