My favorite is Evening Class. She really pulls the reader into the characters. I would like to use it for a book club discussion.

To all readers who have read and loved Maeve Binchy's books, I think her first book (the first I read) Light a Penny Candle was one of her very best and I fell in love with her style, warmth and compassion immediately. Still am and would never miss reading any of her books.

I read on this message board that there is a movie of this novel, so I went into the im data base and found it listed. It says 2005 but I have heard nothing about this movie and have seen no publicity for it. Can someone advise where it was showing, if they have seen it? I don't know if it's a TV movie, possibly for the BBC...? I am in Michigan in the states and have not seen it advertised, but want very badly to see it! Thanks in advance.

Who can know the heart of a person jilted in love? Ella did what Ella did with the computer. We all would have reacted differently - and to me this is the whole point here. Loved Quentins....

I read Tara Road many years ago. I may re-read it. Would like to read Circle of Friends next. Any suggestions?

Nicole...I agree wholeheartedly with you that "Tara Road" should not end but a sequel should be written about those characters! I loved that book and I think there is so much more STORY to tell!

Linda, I have to agree, there definately has to be a sequal to Tara Road. I have only read two of Maeve's books (Tara Road & Quentins) I loved Tara Road, i literally could not put the book down. I want to know more about the characters, what are they doing now??
