Cheryl posts on 4/30/2007 10:53:15 PM As an Episcopalian, I also appreciate the realness of Michelle Blake's books. I know several women priests and see a little of them in Lily Connor. I like it that she is not perfect and does not expect to be perfect. She has her own problems and insecurities, but manages to help people with God's help even when her own faith is shaky. I do wonder why Michelle Blake changed tenses when she wrote The Book of Light. The first two books were written in standard third person past tense and the third on is third person present tense. Seems strange for an author to change. Any ideas why??
posts on 7/3/2006 5:51:31 PM Most authors do not bother to get the priesthood right - all kinds of inaccuracies about religion and priests/ministers abound. As an Episcopal priest, I appreciate Michelle Blake's honest portrayal of Lily...missing the mark and redemption all combined. Great writing! Great books!
