Tom Smithberger posts on 11/5/2005 1:15:58 PM I agree with Mary that Hard Truth was a great book, so well done, and obviously well researched. I am so eager for your next one!
Bonnie Phinney posts on 11/5/2005 11:50:13 AM Dear Nevada - Have read about 6 of your books now, all audio. I have loved every one of them, but I have to say, Hard Truth was a bit too hard for me. What happened to those girls, perhaps because they were children, was a bit too over the top. It seemed much grosser and hard line than your other books which deals with bad guys, true, but not bad guys to innocent children. I think you went too far on this one.

Neil andersen posts on 10/20/2005 9:03:54 AM Accidently found SM in 2nd hand bookstore. Had not heard of Nevada Barr, but enjoyed book especially since I did an internship at the apostle islands and have been to Copper Harbor area. Looking forward to reading another NB book but which one?
Lynn Bishop posts on 10/10/2005 10:23:32 PM I love Anna Pigeon!!! All your books are great! I look forward to each one. Please let Anna go back to the Natchez Trace...at least for a visit! Iam from Mississippi and I love the Natchez Trace! The first book i read was Deep South and i didn't know all the maps you draw descriptions of were real. You cannot began to know my excitement when I traveled the Trace and came upon Rocky Springs. I am currently reading your lastest book Hard Truth. I think Anna needs to see Paul in her next adventure and maybe solve a crime while she is there!!
Debra posts on 10/8/2005 5:46:37 PM My husband and I love each Nevada Barr book and eagerly await new ones! We plan our vacations around which National Park we should attempt to visit because they become so familiar as we read these fantastic books. Keep 'em coming, Nevada!
Mary posts on 9/6/2005 9:42:16 PM Hard Truth is, thank heavens, an honest look at young girls in a psychopath's trap. If it's hard to read, it's harder to live. We need more books like this to portray what some children have survived. This is my favorite of all the Anna Pigeon books despite the fact that there is less nature and a much more complicated plot involving the cult, the wolves, and the psychopath. It rarely happens that I don't know "who done it" early on, but this book kept me in suspense until the very end. The portrayal of Heath's psychological condition was accurate and highly skilled. Her relationship with Beth, the limpet, was so well done. I'm eagerly awaiting your next novel.

Donna posts on 8/11/2005 10:48:10 AM I really enjoy Anna Pigeon and Barr's books, but was very surprised at the anti-Chrsitian theme running through this book.
Ann posts on 8/10/2005 12:59:12 PM I have read and totally enjoyed all of your books, Anna Pigeon + Hat By Hat + Bittersweet. While the subject of child abuse is a very hard subject to comprehend, maybe it could serve as an inspiration to get out and do something to rectify that which is going on in your own neighborhoods. Anna Pigeon brings the great parks of this nation to life for the readers, maybe Hard Truth is helping to address a national problem.??
