After seeing how passionate you were just talking about your work, I had to check you out. Now I am a fan. Keep 'em coming! I could relate to everything and that's what kept my attention.

Vida posts on 7/18/2005 5:41:19 PM I really, really, really enjoyed reading this book. I think I may have read it for the first time my sophmore year in high school, but I think I appreciate the subject matter more, now that I am in college. I think Omar's style of writing is so easy to follow that you just get caught up in the book as if you're watching a suspense-filled movie, you know, I wonder what's gonna happen next! But 4real I give much respect to Omar and all of the "black" authors who have set out to encourage the young black generation to read and to let them know that there are books out there that deal with our culture.
vivian posts on 6/28/2005 1:04:50 PM I have read Flyy Girl, For the Love of Money, and Single Mom. I must say that you are indeed a talented person and I am waiting on "Boss Lady".I would like to recommend other great authors for your fans... Zane, Kimberla Roby, Eric Jerome Dickey, and Sistah Soldier, but do get Boss Lady whenever it comes out.
Racine posts on 6/25/2005 4:15:05 PM I have to admit when I first read Flyy Girl I was extremely surprise that a Guy knows us females so well. You we're so on point with every scene, character, dialogue, and etc. Reading Flyy Girl a while back has opened the door of reading for me. I'm so open minded about things now that I'm reading like this, and I'm much more aware. I've read just about ALL your books out even under The Urban Griot. I would love to read a story about how a girl got raped at a young age, and during her whole teenage years it has affected her tremendously. She never trust guys, she just uses them.. Until she meets the one but she is blinded by her hate for all men (she's not gay or anything… she was once curious but came to the conclusion that female on female is not for her), but he is stuck on trying to convince her his love for her is true and he won't hurt her. She then realizes it, but it is to late because he gave up hope on her and the tables have turn because instead of him chasing her she's chasing him. When I reach of age I want to start writing novels as well. I would start now but I don't have the experience, and even though I know enough I rather wait. I encourage all other Omar Tyree readers to expand your reading…. Theirs Zane.. Sista Soulja… Eric Jerome Dickey.. Donald Goines.. Triple Crown Publications.. Carl Weber.. Mary Monroe.. and Etc.. Support Our black authors!
