I loved this movie and had seen Toronto stage production twice. Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum were both excellent both dramatically and musically. I wonder that the movie was so poorly accepted, although it may have gotten more attention had it been completed 10 years ago. Some weaknesses in the fantasy aspects presented but the Phantom's story being told more completely made up for a lot. If you like the music or the stage show you should see this version.
As a huge GB phan I think we will be seeing more great performances from himm in the near future....Beowulf & Grendle, 300, Butterfly on a Wheel...
