Rick Atkinson Message Board

Sarah Atkinson posts on 12/16/2005 12:57:11 AM To all of Rick Atkinson's loyal fans: I'm sorry its taken so long to get through to you all-- I stumbled upon this website while surfing the internet. This is Rick's daughter, Sarah. I told my dad about this website a while ago and both of us have been trying to post messages to you all, unfortunately none of them got through. Anyway, the book, due to the brief break my father took to go to Iraq and write "In the Company of Soldiers" will not be availabe until fall '07. I'm sorry for the delay. Thanks again for your loyalty! Sarah Atkinson
Bill Moore posts on 11/3/2005 5:20:37 PM If this really is Rick Atkinson's message board I do not understand why he has not, at least, gien some kind of answer regarding all the questions on his 2nd book of the planned trilogy of WWII. I have previously posted two messages and others have posted emails and there has been no response. Is there a possibility that we can get some response regarding his plans for the book regarding the Sicily/Italy campaign. I would like to know when the next book is planned to be published as I definitely want to get a first edition of this book. Thank you for your assistance.
Robert Dowd posts on 10/17/2005 5:25:57 PM My father's unit was the 339th Infantry Regiment that fought in Italy from March 1944 till May of 1945, he always stated that it was the forgotten front, I must agree. I have taught high school history for 14 years and I must sadly agree. I am looking forward to your history of this theater of operations and hope that you will do these brave men the justice that they deserve. I was very impressed with your first volume, I am eager to read your next. Is there any idea of a publication date? I look forward to your response. Many thanks for your efforts. Robert Dowd

Bill Moore posts on 5/3/2005 9:29:34 AM Would it be possible to get a schedule for the release of the next volume in the WWII trilogy. I am getting anxious to read the next section about the invasion of Italy. "An Army at Dawn" was fascinating and I would like to be able to continue. If some kind of schedule could be listed it would be appreciated, as originally the next one was supposed to be published this year. Thanks!
