Did,nt Mr Asprin say he was changing his style of writting some time ago? I love the Myth books. I have,nt bought any because I liked his books and was not sure if I would like the new ones. Tell me what you think.

The Myth-adventures of Aahz and Skeeve have always been my favorite books...I have definitely read Another Fine Myth into the double digits, and the interplay between the two central characters has put a lot of perspective and humour into my own personal relationships. All the books in the series, even including Myth-ion Improbable and Something M.Y.T.H. Inc, have a unique flavor that doesn't always make the reader laugh out loud, but never fails to bring a satisfied smile to their face. But that element has been ebbing, if not missing, from the latest books, and while the books are still valid as entertainment, they no longer hold the same poignancy as the originals. Sweet Myth-tery of Life is a great read for sorting out your personal affairs. Myth-ion Improbable has a good plot and some strong humor, but what's missing is the strong characters. The most endearing facet of Asprin's writing in this series was his penchant for finding ways to express dialogue without using the word "said". When this was gone, the books lost their urgency and the ability to catch the reader in their emotional strides. I would like to say that I will still buy all the future books Mr. Asprin puts out, because I can't get enough, but unless he readopts this style he will never match the greatness of his originals.
