Dale E. Strand posts on 6/20/2005 8:16:09 PM Am half way through the book and noted a blatant error in chapter 16, page 259 of the PocketStar Books paperback: "(God) sent the bear to tear up all those children just because they were teasing Job." It wasn't Job -- it was Elisha, as noted in 2 Kings 2:22-24. AND, it was many bears, not a single bear. The Author is allowed a mistake here and there. The Editors are NOT.
Mike Rigsby posts on 3/17/2005 6:39:53 AM On page 96 of Hoax, Jojola is described as being fifty-three. The following page states he was drafetd in 1966. The military did not draft 15 year old men during the Viet Nam war. Maybe Jojola was going to have his 54th birthday later in the year, but it still will not wash. As a drafted U.S. Army soldier who served in Viet Nam in 68 -69, I find this a bit irresponsible.
Sidney Frank posts on 2/13/2005 1:55:39 PM I enjoyed this book, as I have enjoyed others about Butch Karp and Marlene Ciampi. However, I was quite astonished that, on page 88, Rachel is identified as the wife of Abraham. It is, or should be, common knowledge that Rachel was a wife of Jacob's and the mother of Joseph and Benjamin, and that Abraham's wife was Sarah, the mother of Isaac. Less egregious, perhaps, is "they poured over maps...", on page 151, which obviously was meant to be "pored over". Where were the editors?
