Yule posts on 12/11/2006 11:53:16 AM Location is not "England/UK", as would be apprent on reading the first few pages. The location is Scotland/UK. Given the historical period of the book, this is important!

Donna posts on 10/3/2005 2:19:43 PM I wanted to draw your attention to a great book entitled To Travel Hopefully by Christopher Rush.Following the death of his wife, the author buys a donkey and disappears into the mountains of the Cevennes in the footsteps of RLS. Also I listened to a new CD of A Child's Garden of Verses set to music by composer Phil Henderson. It is terrific.
yasaman posts on 4/30/2005 6:24:15 PM what is the story about anyway. i dont get wat the story means, or wat the point of the story is.
goobersgirl posts on 4/13/2005 5:40:10 PM yes i liked the harry potter books. i might have to do a report on this book, so i wantedt o see if it was any good. i guess so.
kod posts on 4/12/2005 9:26:54 PM I read this book several years ago and liked it, but didn't understand a lot of the terms or the historical setting (jacobites, etc). Have since started on the Master and Commander series and had to learn lots of seafaring terms, and Diana Gabaldon's Outlander books which have filled in the historical parts. I got the "Kidnapped" audio book from the library....read by Michael Page...it is beyond fabulous!! The accents add so much, and the history now makes sense! This book is a jewel!
sally posts on 3/16/2005 1:54:08 PM does anyone knoe what the education for Scottish males was like during the time that Kidnapped was set?
