It amazes me that the several would-be Zelazney substitutes who aspire to continue the Amber series are relatively ignorant of the basic chaos theories such as periodocity and the Mandelbrot construct. A word to the wise: know chaos before you begin to write. Otherwise success will be as flitting as a butterfly.
Note: We still have the complete set of Amber books (abridged). Much of the abridging was done by the author so we feel confident that, for the most part, the stories are complete. To release unabridged versions would be very expensive -- too expensive for a limited audience.

Think of what modern day actors could play the characters in Lord of Light. If you see the movie collateral than Tom Cruise could be Yama

Hi. I'm looking for a particular short story that I read a while ago, and I'm fairly sure it's by Zelazny (and possibly in Unicorn Variations). The basic concept as I remember it is that throughout history, someone has already composed every possible musical bar, every sentance and every idea...so there's no such thing as original thought. Is this azelazny story? Does anyone know what it is? Thanks so much!!

I believe that an Amber movie series would be a good idea, depending on who the director was. But a mini series produced by Scifi sounds like a nuke ready to go off. Scifi has boched so many of their current projects. It would be a very bad idea to trust them to be incharge of the GREATEST story ever writen.
I'm a Manga Artist... and I've contemplated the possibility of creating a full length ... uncut... unedited graphic novel based completely on the series... but I'm not professional yet. So maybe some where down the line it will happen. And believe me! I would love to work on a project like that!

Be careful what you wish for. High hopes for a TV or Movie production may result in our worst nightmares. Imagine this: Instead of an army of short furry guys with machine guns we might have a bunch of Jar-jar's stumbling over each other--completely ruin a good series just to milk the kiddie toy market with Happy Meal reproductions of unheard-of characters that were never in any of the books.
I've dreamed of my favorite books eventually made into a movie. I doubt justice would or could be done though.
In my imagination I can see Corwin standing over Eric as the Jewel pulses in time to his heart-beat. I am flying just behind Random and Corwin as they navigate the Pattern within the Jewel. I can hear the night sounds, twigs breaking, and the scuffle of the fight with Jirt as a wolf.
I don't think I can quite imagine what the Jabberwocky is supposed to look like.
