Key Key posts on 10/9/2008 12:29:03 PM Hey Ths is Key-Key real name Keyona and I can relate to everything in the book. When I read the book I felt like I was reading about me. I;ve always wanted to be an actress and I fit the winter character. If it would be possible you could maybe pick me to play the part if you ever had a movie in plan. That would be my dreams and I would love that so much that I wouldn't even want to get paid. It's my favorite book. I think it's time to let a main streeter like Obamah says, to get that sunshine and the taste of fame. Thanks for listening and much luv for u girl. I only wish I was as strong as your are.
Rocky posts on 9/20/2008 11:01:02 PM I was hoping that the sequel would focus on the male perspective of the same story that happened in The Coldest Winter Ever. We heard Winter's story, saw her mother, friends, female family members, sisters, etc. I wanted to hear the male voice of the same story. It looks like we're going to be focusing mainly on Midnight this time around. Talking about the affects of African diaspora, American assimilation, and hip-hop street life so to speak... in the eyes of Midnight. I mean, I know it's going to be interesting but I jut imagined a sequel to be different and answer all the "unanswered" questions from the previous novel. As far as a movie goes, I think that once we get Midnight... we'll have all the pieces using No Disrespect, The Coldest Winter Ever, & Midnight to pull together a comprehensive story. I've been imagining Tyrese as Midnight, either Keisha Knight Pulliam (Cosby Show) or Tatyana Ali (Fresh Prince)as Winter, Senaa Lathan or Jada Pinkett-Smith as Winter's mother.... I mean, a lot of actors swirl around my mind for these characters. I even went to far as to bring the movie idea to a screen writer that I know. All I can say is that my chops are wet and I'm waiting to see this on the silver screen!

JellyB posts on 9/17/2008 1:56:46 AM This was my all time favorite novel!!!! I loved it from beginning to the end! I think Lauren London would be an excellent candidate for Winter. I really hope there's a movie in progress!
Tootie posts on 9/10/2008 11:00:38 AM I've read this book three times and i'm hoping for a movie sometime soon. I know this movie will surely be #1 for some weeks. Yeah, Lauren London would make a good Winter.
marie s posts on 8/29/2008 7:16:51 PM The actress from the movie Life Support with Queen Latifah would be excellent for the part as Winter. Her name is Rachel Hicks. She played the oldest daughter Kelly. Raw talent. She will bring Winter to life, no doubt.
luvme posts on 8/24/2008 2:38:53 PM I have read this book and I was amazed at how well this book was written. I have gone as far as the theme music to the movie. There are two songs that come to mind for the end by "seal" (1)if i could and(2)prayer for the dying. As far as "midnight" all I see is 'DMX'. I think Tyler Perry should do the film. When I read the book I was there. I felt Winter's Character. (i am from DC) This book needs life (film). The mother I see as the woman who played the mother in Tyler Perry's "Daddy's Little Girls". Don't know her name but she has a twin sister. Today I am at work and read ch 1 online again and I had this exiciting feeling during each word I read. Yes, it kept me on edge again!!!!!!
TIFFANY posts on 8/23/2008 11:13:18 AM i've read 100's of books and this is my all time favorite. Terrance Howard should play the father, for some reason Kim Porter comes to mind as the mother and my vote for the daughter is Lauren London.
