Sterling E. Lanier Message Board

VBobier posts on 5/7/2011 12:55:54 PM I'd bought Hiero's Journey when I was all of 13 Years old, I read It many many times, Later when the book known as Unforsaken Hiero came out I read It too, I too would like someone to do what ever is possible to finish the series or to find any outline or manuscript for a 3rd one so that somebody capable and of similar style that could do Hiero and Company justice, Could at least wrap up the series. It would be nice as I'm 50 now and I'm not getting any Younger.
James Frey posts on 1/23/2011 1:20:26 AM I can understand everyone's frustration about the Mr. Lanier's Hiero trilogy. I am a writer myself and was wondering if anyone has given any thought to any stories set in the same world as Hiero, but in another place? Maybe the West Coast or in the Rocky Mountains or even on another continent altogether? Any fanfiction on the net, or any other boards or web site dedicated to Mr. Lanier?
Michael Rapini posts on 3/25/2010 8:00:08 AM I remember as a young adult when Sterling's novel Hiero's Journey hit the shelves. What visions and wonders it possesed,I loved the story and waited for Unforsaken Hiero. I had reciently bought used copies of both books and relived the adventure again. Such a shame he never finished his 3rd installment.

josh Mackay posts on 2/23/2010 4:19:25 PM Someone must finish the saga of Hiero and Luchare, by God, it must be done!
earlyreader posts on 2/7/2010 3:35:53 PM Sterling Lanier apparently wrote a short story or novella that completed his Hiero Desteen novels. It was published first in a science-fiction magazine and then republished in an anthology that came out somewhere around 1995-1999. I read it there. Unfortunately, I did not keep a record of the title/publisher for either the short story or the anthology. Does anyone know where it could be?
Healthcare Worker posts on 7/10/2007 6:06:38 PM Sterling was a very dignified gentleman. He is and will be missed by all who knew him, even if it was just for a short time.

Lex Fierros posts on 7/6/2007 2:14:55 AM In 1974 the only few really good stories was about a time in the future with a hero who rode a morse. I will sorely miss Sterling Lanier and lament his loss.
Dick Billington posts on 7/2/2007 3:30:01 AM Goodby Sterling, you may be gone but you will not be forgotten. Your books have been my travelling companions since the mid 1970s. I know that you did not finish the Hiero series but I firmly believe that writings such as yours on a post apocolyptic society helped to reduce international nuclear tension in the 1990s. My best wishes to your wife and family.
Gabriele Strube posts on 7/2/2007 1:18:18 AM I´m so sorry. I love his books so much. My condolences to his family.
