Kari posts on 11/25/2008 3:12:46 AM I have to agree with Sonya. The casting is pretty lame. I wonder if the CD even read the books. If they had, I think they would have come closer to casting the right looks. Richard really needed to be a bigger man. Zedd and Kahlan are all wrong. Even Chase, who really could have looked pretty much any way, just didn't look right to me. Those were the only characters I saw because I just couldn't watch any more.
Sonya posts on 11/25/2008 12:36:50 AM Harsh? Never. Truthful... but of course. I guess my reaction is based on shock. For some incalcuable reason I thought that SOT would remain unmolested by Hollywood. I know it's a course of action I can't control, money in large quantity and ratings trump any protests I have as a fan. Which is unfortunate to say the least. I mean have you seen the chump they got to play Richard? I'm sure he's a real nice fella but he is no Lord Rahl. He looks like the dude who helps you out in the electronics section at Wal-Mart. Am I honestly supposed to believe that this guy is the Seeker of Truth, the pebble in the pond, the flippin wielder of the magic of Orden? Bah, tom-foolery that's all I see, and that's just the tip of the iceburg. Why don't they just get Hannah Montana to play Cara, or Julia Roberts to play Denna while they're at it for Bobs sake? It's just plain...bleh. No goodsies, probably some of the worst casting I've ever seen...but that's me. -Sonya
Nick posts on 11/22/2008 7:22:26 AM Eh, wern't you a little harsh there? lol.

Sonya posts on 11/21/2008 8:55:13 PM I've known for a long time that nothing is sacred, but this just takes the cake. I cannot believe that anyone could think it wise to take such an intricate and profound story and think they can process it in to a below par mini-series. I do not mean to be overly fastidious but as a fan I can't help but feel cheated by this paltry effort to bring SOT to the mass of people who can't find the time to pick up a book. I am not fooled, this charade is meant to appeal to that precise demographic, and my question is, why do the people who follow the story religiously get spanked? It's like getting slapped in the face. The complexity and depth of the stories and characters demand a far better representation. I mean to do the first book justice alone, it would take full fledged cinematic skill and vision to pull it off. I am talking big budget, extensive casting sessions, and a group of people dedicated to seeing the story set in to the right motion. If you're going to do something, do it right. I am sick and tired of having the books I love turned in to a ridiculous mockery. Hollywood is undoubtedly an insatiable machine with no integrity what so ever. Blerg...it truly makes me feel like someone assaulted by brain with a wiffle bat when things like this go down. Later gators, Sonya
Diana posts on 11/20/2008 10:19:00 AM Hi! I am from Bulgaria and I feel awful that I can't see the series of the Legend for the Seeker. But I saw pictures. I should notice that I liked Craig Horner from first site. He is the exact Richard, for me. Kahlan should be more gentle. She looks too old. The actress is 26 and Kahlan should be no more than 23. For me, it was funny that the producers choose for the main pozitive and main negative roles actors with same first names - Craig Horner is Richard and Craig Parker is Darken Rahl. I'm waiting for your commentaries and more info about the series. Thanks Diana
Kari posts on 11/18/2008 8:40:36 PM I don't think I can watch the show either. When I saw Richard, he was not at all like I pictured him in my mind. He's too small and just not good looking enough. Kahlan is not as beautiful as she should be, and Zedd looks way to young. I don't want my ideas of the characters I have in my mind marred by what is on the show.
Cheyenne posts on 11/18/2008 5:27:02 PM I am a little disappointed how different it is from the book and that no one looks the way I thought they would, by far! The TV series in itself isn't bad but it is not as good as the books!!!
Nick posts on 11/10/2008 1:05:55 PM I downloaded the first two episodes recently : ) Yea they changed it a little from the book so far but so far I think it's a pretty good TV series.
