The Beatles Message Board

Ez Ryder posts on 5/8/2010 5:24:05 PM I hear some people, usually younger by far than me, say something along the lines of, "The Beatles were a great rock band,"etc, etc, etc. What an understatement. Oasis was "a great rock band," so was The Who, Cream, The Hollies and on and on and on was every body else. Even Bob Dylan, and yes, even Jimi Hendrix was at the top of the heap of the bands or performers that were not The Beatles. The Beatles were not just at the top of the heap, they were their OWN heap. When The Beatles put out a new album, it was MORE than just a new Beatles album. It began a brand-new era. That's how influential The Beatles were on culture, fashion, and much else, not even to mention MUSIC. Here's a thought. We may not even BE HERE if not for The Beatles! That's right! When the Cold War was happening, one thing that helped it start to thaw just a little was the idea that "hmmmm, the kids over there in Russia, and those other Communist countries have at least one thing in common w/ us. They dig The Beatles. There's something to work from." It made us realize about each other that "they can't be all that bad."

c. stanley posts on 6/23/2005 4:46:40 PM I am a huge Beatles fan and I stumbled upon the best tribute band I have ever seen. The Liverpool Legends is a group that is actually endorsed and managed by Louise Harrison (George's Sister). I found out that they are performing at the Branson Mall Music Theatre in Branson, MO. June 28th through July 3rd and then again on the 5th of July. I don't know if there is a website, but check these guys out if you get a chance.
