Jackie Sheehan posts a message on 11/23/2009 7:58:46 PM All together I have counted 37 specific pieces of music throughout the film. This includes the 2 songs run during the credits. Irish Heartbeat by Van Morrison and my personal favorite piece in the movie, For lack of a name I’m calling it “The Matchmaker Theme” by John Altman. I’m taking this liberty because I have yet to find out what it is called and to even confirm that the piece is a work of John Altman. John was given Opening movie credits for “Original Music By – John Altman” John has many other films to his credit and is much like John Williams is his successes over the years. If I manage to contact John or anyone else with info about these few pieces of music that are sprinkled throughout the film I will revisit this document. for my exhaustive search of music in “The Macthmaker” email me
Jackie Sheehan posts a message on 11/23/2009 7:52:05 PM There are over 30 different clips on this movie - contact me for a detailed list
Lyle posts a message on 11/22/2009 8:20:41 PM Mark Knopfler sang a version of Raglan Road on one of Donal Lunny's music series, I think it might have been an episode of East Meets West. Heartwarming! He accompanied himself on an accoustic guitar. Well done, Mark!
