Do you know why the nuns stayed behind the gate at Maria's wedding? Is there a "nun" rule which says they can't attend weddings? In the wedding scene, they help her smooth her dress then open the gate for her, and close it again. They just stand there looking through the bars of the gate. I don't get it. Why didn't they attend the wedding?

hey chris angelico.you probably don't know me but i was just curious about your post concerning the movie the sound of music!you mentioned that u've studied it!i have aquestion,do you know the title of the music that was played when they we're dancing the austrian landler?i really need that music asap!so can you please reply asap?thanks in advance
