Tom Clancy Message Board

Mystery Book that was supposed to come out this summer is now taken OFF Amazon. Can't get information from anybody no where. I smell politics. Clancy was against the Iraq war and maybe this new work has some of his feelings in it. The end of the Clancy genre I suppose. Screw Op-Center and those other rags used for fire kindling.

Actually, I'd like to see another of his world war stories, but maybe not with the allies that we'd typically expect to have, and definitely not the same type of "good guys win again" ending. I love his 1000+ page stories. Especially when the first 750 pages are all just build-up to the action that takes place in the last 250 pages. And there's no saying that Jack, Sr. has to be finished. Clancy can always go back in time to whatever period of Ryan's life he wants to.

He cant keep putting off the book forever. There will simply have to be something leaked before it comes out, probably when we get a definative release date.

I agree with Tim Johnson 3/28/2006
The needs to be a novel based on Jack Ryans departure fronm the White House and what follows. I have been a fan for years . This is a bad ommission from the Ryan saga. I also loked forward to the Jack Jnr. follow up. Come on Tom what about it?

I think I was the last one holding out hope that the Jack Jr. series was going to take off. However, I have now given up. I guess he's going to stick more to video games, I'm sure there's more money in that anyways.
Good bye Jack and Jack Jr.

Personally, I can't see why you guys are anxious for a Jack, Jr. book. ALL of Clancy's books were spectacular up until Jr. and his relatives (or whoever they were) took up the torch. That was the worst storytelling (and the lamest path to choose) Clancy has done. I almost got the feeling someone else, someone far inferior to Clancy, had written that book and put Clancy's name on it. When I read a Clancy book, I'm hoping for 1000 pages or so, but I just don't think I could stomach that much of Jr. and the boys.

I think I've finally given up hope. I thought the next book was coming out in May and was disappointed. Now one is "suppose to" come out Aug. 31. I don't believe it and don't care anymore. I had hope with this new Jack Jr. Series, but the lack of information and communication out there in today's day and age has just turned me off to Tom Clancy.
Sorry, I think with the lack of posts most people have already turned away.

I don't think there is a new TC novel. He's too busy making money on computer games.

Amazon.co.uk shows that the there is a new release this year, and another release in 2007.

Just checked Amazon, apparently the release for the new book has been pushed back to August of this year. This blows.
