My heart goes out to you and I truly hope you will find peace within yourself. I just finished the book "When Rabbit Howls" written by the troops, you are a very strong,couragous women to have lived the life you did and survive, Amazing. My hat goes off to you, I also wish you happiness.

I saw your question and tho a great deal of time has passed ( I just today found this page on the net ) I felt I had to say something about it. One does not " make that decision " at all- ever. DID or MPD as it was previously called just IS - and the sorry fact is that our Medical and Psychiatric world fails to truly believe in its existence - and those who live with it are often enraged when its made fun of - the butt of jokes, etc. This is something that most people I dare say wouldn't even wish on their worst enemy tho' I'm sure there are exceptions to that rule also. It has nothing to do with " energy taking on its own life " rather than schizophrenia ( ENTIRELY DIFFERENT MENTAL STATE .. ENTIRELY! ) they are not one and the same by any stretch of the imagination. =-

I have just finished reading When Rabbit Howls for the second time. My heart still aches to know that such abuse could be laid upon one person from the hands of another. Few of us, myself included, could ever say with conviction that we could relate or understand the torment showered upon her life. I can only hope that she is living her life to the fullest now with peace, love and happiness surrounding her as she so deserves.

I came across an old video tape of Truddi on a talk show. I didn't watch it again, but it really sparked my interest to know how she is doing. I wish you all the best, good luck. Margie

My admiration for you is very deep. I relate to your story, my mother has DID and I was diagnosed with PTSD. You are not alone. I wish you the best of all things, and many peaceful days.
