Upton Sinclair Message Board

Ike posts on 6/25/2011 10:57:07 AM As a student of history and the human condition (and a steak-lover), I found the beginning of the Jungle to be remarkably intriguing. The end of the book, however, I thought was contrived and boring. It is in the end that Sinclair removes any doubt that his aim is Socialist propaganda. His Socialist rationale is weak, but his indictment of those who abuse power and prey on the ignorant and underprivileged is thought provoking and powerful.
