Wendelin Van Draanen Message Board

posts on 8/12/2006 6:25:17 PM Uh...I don't think the author's going to be on this board herself. But I truly did love Flipped. It was actually pretty funny.
posts on 8/11/2006 11:54:39 PM HI!! I would like to know where to find Wendelin's address (escpecially her home one!) I love the Sammy Keyes Books. You need a movie on them!! Thanks! BETHANY
posts on 8/9/2006 5:16:39 PM Hello Ms. Draanen. I have been assigned a book report for summer reading, and I chose your awesome book Flipped. Part of my assignment is to come up with the rising action, falling action, and resolution of the story, but I am having a little trouble determining how to apply it to Flipped. I have some ideas so far, but I would like to be sure. Your helpful hints would be most appreciated. Thank you, MC

posts on 7/28/2006 8:47:53 PM I was wondering are you going to make a sequel for Flipped. That book was really nice. I love'd it when Bryce flipped and totally fell in love with Juli and what he said about doing whatever it takes to be with her. I want to know what happens next! How Juli meets up with Bryce again, tells him thanks about the sycamore tree. It's hard to say how much you really wonder what happens next and I'm dying to know.
posts on 7/28/2006 12:55:48 PM i read what you wrote about flipped,ms.van draanen, and I understand that a great book like that shouldn't really have a sequel but to those of us who lack imagination it would be great if you could whether or not its in bryce's or juli's prespective it could be through someone else's (maybe) anyways I really would like a sequel so i figured i'd give it a shot... p.s. when will the next sammy keyes book be out fall?
posts on 7/25/2006 3:54:17 PM Hey again it's me. I just wanna let you know that Flipped is the most awesome book I have EVER read. It would be cool if you made a sequel because I need to know what happens next!! I know it will be great too.
posts on 7/19/2006 3:55:12 PM I just finished a year-long project where I was able to choose my topic. I chose Wilderness Survival, so I'm looking forward to seeing if Sammy does what she is supposed to when she gets lost in SK&the Wild Things. And I'll still be completely engrossed in the story even if she does everything wrong because I'm easy to please and I trust Wendelin Van Draanen has done her research.
posts on 6/7/2006 1:29:26 PM I love the Sammy Keyes mysteries! They are my favorite mystery stories. Thank you Ms. Wendelin Van Draanen for these great books!
posts on 6/2/2006 11:50:55 PM This is one of the best books that I have ever read! Ms. Van Draanen if you are able to read my message will you please give me some tips when writing a book? thanks
posts on 5/28/2006 6:10:17 PM Wow, I just stumbled upon this site and must say I love you guys! Thanks for being so enthused about my books :-). To answer some questions: YES there will be more Sammy Keyes books. I just finished the first draft of #11 which will be titled Sammy Keyes and the Wild Things. It's summer time in Sammy's world, and she winds up going backpacking, and agrees to wear hiking boots instead of her high-tops. Mistake #1. It's all blisters and biting, scary, nasty things from there. Oh, except that she and her friends run into Casey and Billy Pratt (who's basically jumproping with a 10-foot rattlesnake.) They get lost and...well, I don't want to give too much away!! There are 20 Sammys planned and around #15 or #16 she'll discover who her father is. Stay tuned!! About Flipped...lots of people want a sequel, but I think it's the wrong thing to do (philosophically, not financially!)so I'm not planning one. I am, however planning another romantic comedy that I know you'll love. Before that, though, I have a book coming out in September that's titled Runaway. It is the story of Holly Janquell, who you'll recognize from the Sammy Keyes books. It's her story up to the time Sammy rescues her in SK&the Sisters of Mercy. It's not a "tie-in" book--it's a stand-alone, but if you've read Sisters of Mercy you'll find it very interesting. Thanks again for all the positive comments. Keep reading! Wendelin
