William O. Steele Message Board

k wing posts on 1/11/2008 10:15:44 PM 1/11/08 I hope you have gotten some responses by now. I read some of his books, and my daughter loved his books too. I am looking for a prticular one, where Asa Twistletree is a naturalist, and a young teen is "sold" to him to accompany him on his journey. Gradually the young man comes to admire the qualities of the naturalist. The biography series might be the Childhood of FamousAmericans by Bobbs-Merrill. I still have some of those, but not James Fennimore Cooper.
Leslie posts on 1/11/2006 11:33:45 AM Can someone please send me a link to, or, a complete listing of William O. Steele books? When I was young, I read many that were in my elementary school library, and as I have gotten Older I would love to relive some of the memories I had when reading his books. I can remember getting so lost in the books that I felt as though I had become the character myself. Also, if anyone remembers when they were young, there were biographies on famous figures in world, as well as American history, but the biographies centered more around the youthful days than thay did the the adult years. If I remember correctly, one of them was titled "James Fenimore Cooper, Leatherstocking Boy". I would really appreciate any info some of you might could share.
