Tehmima posts on 6/26/2008 9:37:30 AM salaams, like many others i don't really know where to begin.I only heard of 'sold' a few days ago when my freind recommended it to me. i couldn't put the book down and completed it in two days......i was shocked and horrified!! and most of all i felt sadness and anger. since reading the book i have not been able to stop thinking about it and decided that i had to find out if Nadia, her children and Marcus have been reunited with Zana and the rest of the family. i was delighted to see the message posted that they have! alhamdulillah i pray that you all recieve all the happiness in the world and pray that ALLAH give equal strength to those who are still in this situation... ameen xx

Sally (Saleha) posts on 6/25/2008 2:58:27 PM (continued)"Hi,Thank you for your kind note. Nadia and the children are indeed back in England now, and Marcus came looking for his mother as soon as he turned 18, just as Zana always hoped he would. So, we have a happy ending at last.Thank you for caring enough to write.Best wishes,Andrew Crofts."
Carole posts on 6/25/2008 8:27:19 AM Sally, you contacted Andrew Crofts re Nadia/Zana. Please let us have his reply.
suzy posts on 6/25/2008 1:43:29 AM Since reading about Zana and Nadia not a day goes by without wondering if Nadia is alright, alive and how these things happen, why does it have to happen in this day and age? My heart breaks for the whole family, inparticular Miriam and Zana and Tina and Aisha and Moh, not to forget Abdul and Laila. I'm such a blessed and lucky person and better having read their story. Keep fighting th4 good fight, Kind Regards, Suzy
Sally posts on 6/21/2008 5:30:13 AM Hello everyone. Like everyone on this discussion board,i have been most eager to find out whether Nadia, the children & Marcus ever came to their true home. So i emailed Andrew Crofts (the ghostwriter who wrote sold&Promise to Nadia, with Zana) to ask the same question couple of days ago. And he replied;
marie falcini posts on 6/20/2008 5:51:49 PM i first read about zana and nadia 13 or14 years ago.i still think about nadia and wonder if she ever came home.Idont think that i have ever read a book that has effected me so deeply.over the years i have managed to find snippets of info about both sisters but i have never heard any more on their mother.i would really like to know what is happening in there lifes now.im so genuinely interested,as i said there story touched me so deeply.
Saleha posts on 6/18/2008 1:53:31 PM Dearest Zana, i have read both of your books as well as your mothers. I dont know where to begin, i almost feel useless saying this now, and too late to help now after 28 years when your nighmare began, but all i can say is i am absolutely devastated. I know many horriable things happen in this seemingly cruel world we live in now. It has been one of the most heart breaking books i have ever read. It really does upset me that such horrendous things can be done in the name of religion (i.e. your father claiming he wanted you both, not to forget Leilah & Ahmed, to be brought up as good muslims). I am a practicing Muslim and no where in Islam does it ever permit; forced marriages, rape, beatings & degrading treatment of women. Although it may be presented that way, with the constant maligning from critics of international media. The crooks in your books claimed 'cultural' practices to be Islamic whereas it clearly is forbidden in Islam. Nonetheless, all of those who wronged your entire family will surely pay their price with guilt & misery in life. Please do let us know if Nadia is now free. That would be most heart contenting to know. You are a very couregeous & brave women. A true role model for those in similar situations and despair. Keep strong. I wish you and your family all the best in the world and a life full of happiness. Love and silent prayers always. Ma'salama
Concerned posts on 6/13/2008 5:22:12 PM you should all go and check out the Guardian at www.guardian.co.uk. Read the article filed earlier this year (2008) where the Guardian journalist interviews Nadia in the Yemen - with no-one else present. I don't think that anything said here cancels out the horror of what happened to both Zana and Nadia, but at least one now knows Nadia is still alive and according to this report anyway, doing well.
