The reporter who covers their wedding for the society page turns out to be Kevin. He has decided to use the contents of Jane's planner as material for an article, aiming to be promoted and write investigative, news articles. Unaware of Kevin's intentions, when he asks to interview her for his piece on Tess's wedding, Jane tries on all 27 bridesmaids dresses and they have a fun time. He takes pictures and sends them with the article to his boss. But as they get to know each other, Kevin starts to see Jane is not as shallow as he thought, and asks his editor to hold his article so he can rework it.

Jane agrees to have a drink with Kevin but ends up getting drunk. They make out in the car. Kevin's editor prints the article anyway and when Jane finds out, she is furious with him. And Tess gets angry with Jane for giving Kevin information on her, as he is describing her as a bridezilla. Despite the fight, Tess asks Jane to make a slideshow for her engagement party. Jane finds George should be told the truth about Tess and runs pictures of Tess doing all the things she had denied doing before to George and he breaks off the engagement.

Later at work, Jane realizes she only worked at George's office because she was in love with him. And after a kiss, she finds out she no longer loves him, quits her job, and goes over to meet Kevin. One year later they are getting married and all 27 brides Jane helped, are her bridesmaids. They wear the dresses she wore as their bridesmaid.
