A quarantined area of London is re-infected with the Rage virus after 28 weeks of being virus-free. Scarlet is an American scientist working at District 1, London's cleared area declared Rage virus-free. It is 28 weeks later since the outbreak and American forces have set up camp here, getting rid of bodies, doing clean-up, and securing the safety of the disease-free residents in the camp. Don works at the settlement as a janitor, he came here weeks earlier after he and his wife were attacked by infected people in their country home. He left his wife amidst the chaos, and thinks she's dead. His two young children have just arrived at District 1 coming from Spain, and they are uninfected.

The two kids, Tammy and Andy illegally venture out of camp to go back to their country home to get some things, and they find their mother Alice disheveled, disoriented, but still alive. She doesn't seem to be infected. The kids are found out by the military, and soldiers take all three of them back to camp.
Alice is inspected by Scarlet and is astonished that even with a bite mark, she isn't displaying Rage symptoms. She is a carrier but is immune to the virus. She insists on doing tests on her, since she might hold the cure to the disease. Her superior, Stone thinks otherwise, since she might infect people in the camp. Meanwhile, Don is guilt-ridden with the discovery that his wife is still alive. His children hate him since he lied to them. Don goes to see Alice, and when they share a kiss, Don gets infected and kills her in a violent rage. Don breaks loose and starts infecting people he runs into.
Stone has instituted an order to kill those who are infected. But later, when panic spreads, he orders his soldiers to kill everyone. Doyle, a sniper, becomes concerned and helps civilians to escape. He runs into Scarlet, who now has Tammy and Andy in tow, trying to flee for safety. She firmly believes that the two kids are also immune and must be protected at all costs.
Stone will firebomb the area, and Doyle and the others hide under a bridge and survive. They meet up with Doyle's good friend Flynn, who's a chopper pilot, but when they try to rendezvous, they are circled in by the infected. Flynn slices them with the chopper blades and moves the meeting point to Wembley.
Scarlet, Doyle, and the kids try to make a break for it in a stolen car, but when it stalls, Doyle sacrifices himself to jumpstart the car and is burned alive while the others escape. They run into a tube station in complete darkness, with Don in pursuit. Don kills Scarlet, but the kids escape and make it to the stadium to meet Flynn.
Andy has been infected but the others don't know it. They fly out of there and the film ends with the chopper crashing into a field and hysteria spreading out onto Parisian soil.
Best part of story, including ending:
I like the London setting and the premise that these kids hold the answers to the cure.
Best scene in story:
When the infected corner the four in the car, and Doyle, unafraid and smiling, pushes the car knowing he'll die for a good cause.
Opinion about the main character:
Scarlet is also a hero for defying her boss because she's trying to protect the children for the greater good of the mission.
