Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel

This is the series in the series of animation films about Alvin and the Chipmunks and the troubles they get into during their careers as pop music stars. Alvin (with the voice of Justin Long), Simon (with the voice of Matthew Gray Gubler), and Theodore (with the voice of Jesse McCartney) are the pop band called the “Chipmunks.” They are performing in Paris when their manager Dave (played by Jason Lee) is injured. Dave arranges for them to be taken care of by Aunt Jackie (played by Kathryn Joosten). He tells them, they are going to high school. After they fly back to Los Angeles, Aunt Jackie and their cousin Toby (played by Zachary Levi) meet them. Toby forgets to put the brake for Aunt Jackie's wheelchair, which goes down the stairs sending her to the hospital.

Toby takes the Chipmunks home, allowing them to do whatever they want, while he plays video games. He takes them to high school where all the girls think they are cute. This makes the football players jealous. The chipmunks eat lunch with all the girls. One of the football players, Ryan (played by Kevin G. Schmidt) shoves Simon into the toilet. This causes a fight. They end up in the principal's office. The Principal (played by Wendie Malick) gives them an ultimatum. They are going to be suspended unless they perform in a singing competition to win $25,000 first prize for the school's music program. The Chipmunks are happy to perform rather than be thrown out of school.

At the record label, the guy that used to manage them named Ian (played by David Cross) is doing rather badly. He discovers three girl chipmunks: Brittany (with the voice of Christina Applegate), Jeannette (with the voice of Anna Faris), and Eleanor (with the voice of Amy Poehler) who can really sing well. He forms the group called the “Chipettes” with them in order to get back at the Chipmunks. He gets them enrolled in the high school so they have a chance to perform in the singing competition. The Principal agrees to have the students decide who is better to represent the high school in the competition, the Chipmunks or the Chipettes, by letting them sing in front of the school on Friday.

In the gym at the school, Alvin demonstrates to the football team his catching and throwing ability. Alvin becomes friends with the football players and joins the football team. The football team has a game on Friday at another school. Alvin goes to the game instead of performing with the Chipmunks. Alvin makes the winning touchdown at the game. By the time Alvin gets back, the singing performance is over and the Principal choose the Chipettes because the Chipmunks did not perform, since Alvin was missing.

Alvin realizes his mistake when Theodore leaves to hide in the local zoo and is almost eaten by an eagle. They save Theodore just in time.
Ian tells the Chipettes to forget about the high school singing competition, because he has a more important gig where they will open for Britney Spears. He only wants Brittany to sing from the Chipettes which makes the other Chipettes upset. Brittany refuses, so Ian puts her in a cage. She uses a cell phone to call Alvin. Alvin comes to rescue her. He gets all the Chipettes away from Ian. The Chipettes and Chipmunks perform together at the singing competition by singing “We Are Family.” and they win the $25,000 prize for the school's music program. Dave and Toby watch the performance. After the show, Alvin tells Dave he invited the Chipettes to live with them. Poor Dave now has double trouble to deal with in the future.
Best part of story, including ending: The singing Chipettes are super cute.

Best scene in story: I like the scene when Alvin scores the winning touchdown because it is funny that the football is bigger than he is, yet he still catches it.

Opinion about the main character: Alvin is a bit selfish but in the end he finally comes around and recognizes both the value of the other Chipmunks and the talent of the Chipettes.
