Detailed plot synopsis reviews of American's Sweethearts

Lee works as a publicist and has been fired by his company. But they have a new movie coming out starring Gwen and Eddie who were America's Sweethearts but who have split up. Lee's company wants him back though to publicize their next movie which has not been seen by the studio and will not be shown until the premiere at the press junket.

Lee decides the best approach is to get everyone out to an isolated location and try to show that Gwen and Eddie are actually back together and make the press forget that they have not seen the movie yet. Lee has to manipulate them to attend but as he has known them both for quite a while, he knows what the needs to do to get them there. Gwen brings her sister (Kiki) who is also her assistant, along with her as she cannot survive without her assistance.

Once they arrive at the junket, Eddie and Gwen are thrown together even though they do not want to be.   Gwen makes Kiki do her dirty work as she does not want to deal with it. Quite often this means that Kiki has to deal with Eddie, and Eddie quickly discovers that he is attracted to Kiki.

When the press junket actually gets a chance to see the movie, as the movie has been delivered, it is not what anyone expects. It is much more a personal film where people find out the truth about Gwen and Eddie and it does not show them in a very good light.    To salvage the situation, Gwen tells everyone that her and Eddie are getting back together but he denies the allegation and confesses that he actually likes Kiki.

Best part of story, including ending: I like that it shows that Hollywood is not all wonderful, that there are bad things that happen there and people are unhappy.

Best scene in story: When Eddie declares that he has feelings for Kiki.

Opinion about the main character: Gwen is very self centered and does not care about what others think as long as it benefits her.
