Amy is an architect who works at a firm with her ex husband in Manhattan. She decides to ditch the city and heads upstate to a spa. There she meets Virgil Adamson, a blind masseuse that she instantly falls for and soon develops a relationship with. Virgil is cared for by his overprotective older sister but lives alone. Virgil's older sister is not at all comfortable with the fact that Amy has taken such a fancy to Virgil and just wants to protect him from any hurt....... physical or emotional.

Amy is surfing the internet one day and stumbles across a doctor's website that is trying a new surgical procedure on blind people that will hopefully restore their sight. She asks Virgil if he would volunteer to be a candidate for this elective surgery. At first he is aprehensive, but after some coaxing by Amy and a fight with his sister...... He decides to give it a try.
Virgil goes to New York City with Amy to have the surgery, which restores his sight...... he is very disoriented, scared, and confused with his new world......At first, he can only identify objects by touch and not by sight. He eventually gains more knowledge of his sighted world, but after seeing how crappy the world really is.......decides he'd rather be blind.

This movie is about Virgil Adams who is blind and works in a health spa. He meets Amy they have a love affair with each other. Amy has trouble dealing with Virgil being blind. Virgil goes to New York so he could see Amy and his sister. Virgil thinks that Amy really does not love him because he is blind.They find each other after being apart for a couple of months and that is where the story ends.
