A comedic monster movie set in and around an apartment building in present day London.

The story follows a group of teenage delinquents led by Moses (Boyega) and a reluctant nurse (Whittaker), who get caught up in an alien invasion.
The aliens are well designed though not spectacular. They look somewhat like gorillas with large, translucent teeth and they attack in packs. There aren't many explanations to be found, most of the movie consists of running, hiding, and fighting aliens. A lot of funny moments are spread troughout and the characters Ron (Frost) and Brewis (Treadaway) provide comic relief. Many other supporting characters are introduced, and they are sufficiently distinctive not to get muddled up.
Most of the arsenal used by the boys is stuff you would find around the house, from bottle rockets to baseball bats and ornamental swords. Even a guitar gets involved (hint: not very useful).
A coming of age narrative develops for the main character, Moses. He's stronger and smarter than his friends, and eventually takes the responsibility of ending the alien invasion upon his shoulders.
Best part of story, including ending:
The story is nothing special and takes a while to get going, the characters and action are the best parta of the movie.
Best scene in story:
My favourite scene was the unfortunate end of the HiHatz character, great gory special effects.
Opinion about the main character:
Moses is very much the strong and silent type, but he is shown to be mature beyond his age. Great acting by John Boyega.
