The story touches on the lives of soldiers on both sides and including Hessler's lifelong aide(Hans Christain Blech) who only desires to return homes, the commanding general(Robert Ryan)who must commit his troops, the hustler(Telly Savales)who vows not to "go home poor" The seasoned veteran (George Montgomery)who keeps the unit sharp; and the infiltrator (Ty Hardin) who works behind enemy lines to support the "special mission". "Battle of the Bulge" is na action packed account of a desparate battle featuring massive tank battles, riveting drama and an inspired music score.

Things are looking desperate for the Third Reich, and desperate times all for...a new armored offensive (and some paratroopers disguised as Americans)! Meanwhile, a clever American intelligence officer figures out what's going on and helps the army respond. Sub-plots include the German officer who wants the war to go on and his aide who wants the war to end, a tank commander who loses his sweetheart in the German assault, and a young officer who escapes the Malmedy massacre. Much more entertaining than it is historically accurate.
