Bleak House Movie Review Summary

Actors: Diana Rigg, Denholm Elliot

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Bleak House

This a very moving classic, Charles Dicken's novel of intrigue, love and self destruction. Denholm Elliot and Diana Rigg star in this 19th century commentary on the injustices of the justice system of that time. The infamous Jarndyce case has been dragging itslf through the court system, long enough to ruin lives and leave families devastated. John Jarndyce, a wealthy gentleman, takes on orphaned wards of the system and tries to give them a positive lifestyle. The case revolves around these wards and the people they come into contact day to day. It is a powerful tale of greed, social decay, and misery in the world of Dicken's at that time.
