This movie is based on the true story of Breaker Morant... a great Australian hero who fought in the Boer War (though he was Aussie.. he had British roots... but then again, who didnt have British roots at that time in Oz?)

When Morant and his troops... a force called the Bushveldt Carbineers... receive orders from Lord Kitchener (the head BRITISH guy in charge of the Aussies) to take no prisoners when fighting the Boers (fighting them on their own terms), the troops do so.
They decide to fight this mob of Boers just when the war was about to end and they take no prisoners. Because of the delicate situation at the time while the terms of peace were beng negotiated, the 'murders' of these Boers had to go avenged. And so Morant and some of his guys are investigated and put on trial by the BRITISH army.

Three Australian junior officers are tried for murder after following orders not to take prisoners during the Boer War. Based on fact, this film portrays the fate of one of Australia's 'bush poets'. Over the lives of these men looms the spectre of the British military Establishment seeking 'scapegoats of empire.'
