Buster Edwards (Collins) is a married man who wants to provide the best possible life for his wife (Walters) and daughter. He is also a small time robber who is part of a group that holds up a Royal Mail train. He insists that no weapons be used in the heist; he and the crew are successful. British officials are eager to catch those involved and bring them to justice. They are unrelenting. Buster and his family go into hiding and eventually to Mexico. But this is not the life they had wanted to lead.

Based on true events, this film explores the love story between Buster and June. This caper is known in the UK as “The Great Train Robbery,” and is now a mythic crime. All but one of the robbers was eventually captured.
