Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Captain Blood

Peter Blood, played by Errol Flynn, is a British doctor who gets caught up in the Monmouth's Rebellion in the 1680s. He happens to help the wrong side by treating the wounded, for which he is proclaimed a traitor and sentenced to slavery in Jamaica. He works at the plantation of the cruel Colonel Bishop and falls in love with his beautiful niece, Arabella (Olivia de Havilland). During a pirate attack Peter Blood manages to escape, and becomes a pirate himself, known as Captain Blood. Unlike other pirates, he abides by a strict moral code, proving that, although forced to be an outlaw, he remains a gentleman. Still unable to forget Arabella, he searches for her and finds her captured by another pirate; he fights for the young lady and frees her. Eventually, Captain Blood is pardoned by the new king of England and sent to fight the French fleet. After more sea battles, he is made a governor and united with Arabella.
