After 15 years behind bars, Bruno Le Roux, a former lefty revolutionary and terrorist, escapes from prison. He contacts Jeanne Rivet, one of the members of his organisation, who is now living a normal life with her husband and their child. Jeanne tries to explain to Bruno that she doesn't believe in violence any more and she advises him to cross the French/Italian border in order to elude the policemen who are searching for him. But Bruno wants to eliminate first Jacquillat, the man who betrayed him and his friends 15 years before. Moreover, he declares once again war to the French society by dynamiting the courthouse where he was judged and convicted.
