CHAIN OF FOOLS was directed by Pontus Loewenhielm and Patrick von Krusenstjerna alias "Traktor" in 2000. The comic situations of this film are caused by an uninterrupted succession of misunderstandings between characters caricatured to the extreme.

Krek, an unlucky hairdresser forsaken by his wife, wounds Avnet accidentally. Avnet is a criminal who has just stolen invaluable old Chinese coins. Kresk decides to get rid of Avnet and to ask his friend Andy to help him to recover the coins hidden in Avnet's apartment. Unfortunately, the nephew of Kresk swallows the coins and our hairdresser must now await the end of the digestion of the young imp. Meanwhile, inspector Kolko (Salma Hayek), a charming policewoman who has just posed for Playboy magazine, investigates the robbery of the invaluable coins. The following day, perchance, Kresk saves the life of Bollingsworth, who is actually the associate of Avnet, and meets inspector Kolko at the hospital. Kresk and Kolko fall in love right when a hitman, hired by Bollingworth, finally understands that Kresk is, or soon will be, in possession of the invaluable coins.
